Jason Fuiman, Esq.
Jason Fuiman is a founding partner of Fuiman Mogila, LLP, a union-side labor and employee benefits law firm. Jason has over 20 years of experience advising the boards of trustees of numerous employer pension, welfare, annuity, and 401(k) plans—both public and private as well as single and multiemployer—ranging from $3 million to $16 billion in total assets, on all matters relating to fiduciary responsibility, including compliance with ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, DOL and HHS guidelines, and applicable regulations. He also serves as lead counsel on various employee benefit plan litigation matters involving matters relating to collections, withdrawal liability, benefit denials, fiduciary duty, and plan design. He has practiced before numerous district and circuit courts relating to these matters.
He also advises union executive boards, business agents, organizers, and staff on issues relating to organizing, unfair labor practices, collective bargaining agreement interpretation, government investigations, NLRA, LMRA, DOL guidelines, and applicable regulations.
Jason also served as a contributing editor to the American Bar Association Employee Benefits Law Manual from 2013-2021 and is a regular presenter at the Annual Conference of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans. He is an expert in matters related to defined contribution and 401(k) plans, having spoken at various conferences and written on the topic. Before attending law school, he worked on Capitol Hill as a legislative correspondent for Congresswoman Nydia M. Velazquez of New York and as a staff assistant for the U.S. House of Representatives Small Business Committee. He graduated from George Washington University with a bachelor of science degree in biology and then from the George Washington University Law Center, where he was a contributor to the Public Contracts Law Journal. When he’s not working, he’s letting his son throw water balloons at him.

Lauren Bonaguro, Esq.
Lauren Bonaguro concentrates on labor and employment law and litigation, including processing and investigation of grievances, negotiations, and interpretation of collective bargaining agreements. Lauren has extensive experience defending against duty of fair representation claims, and prosecuting collection claims and other employee benefit litigation involving multi-employer Taft-Hartley benefit plans, including claims made pursuant to the Multiemployer Pension Plan Amendments Act of 1980 (“MPPAA”), collection matters, claims made pursuant to the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (“ERISA”), and issues involving fiduciary responsibility. Lauren also has extensive experience representing local and international labor unions in litigation in federal and state courts, before the NLRB, PERC, PERB, and other administrative agencies, and in arbitration hearings. Lauren also advises unions in organizing drives, unfair labor practice charges, representational petitions, jurisdictional disputes, contract administration, and internal union governance, including the conduct of board and membership meetings, legislative advocacy, and matters involving the prevailing wage laws.
In addition to litigation, Lauren is also highly skilled in drafting and advising clients on employee handbooks, and company policies, union bylaws and constitutions, employment agreements, severance agreements, separation agreements, and consulting agreements.
Lauren has committed her career to assisting labor organizations in achieving their goals for economically favorable contract terms through negotiations, as well as expansion of market share within their jurisdiction.

Stephen J. Mogila, Esq.
Stephen represents single-employer and collectively bargained (public and private) pension, defined contribution, health and welfare, scholarship, legal, and training plans as well as non-profit organizations in a wide variety of industries including uniformed officers, firefighters, construction, bakery, confectionery, grain millers, tobacco workers, operating engineers, building trades, shipping, and security. He represents such clients in connection with all aspects of tax-qualified and non-qualified employee benefit plans and arrangements, including the design, implementation, administration, amendment, and termination of multi-employer and single-employer defined contribution retirement plans, defined benefit pension plans, and welfare benefit plans.
Provides day-to-day advice and support to clients in connection with statutory and regulatory compliance matters arising in connection with employee benefit plans, programs and arrangements, including preparation and revision of applicable regulatory filings and employee/participant communications. He also assists clients in the design, execution and communication of benefit programs.
Stephen represents clients in contract negotiations with regard to service provider agreements with benefit and investment consultants, custodians, record-keepers, third-party plan administrators, and investment managers, and advises clients in connection with employee benefits aspects of corporate transactions, including conducting due diligence, negotiating, drafting and reviewing transactional documents, identification of issues arising under, and assistance in complying with applicable rules and regulations of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended, and ERISA. Represents clients before the IRS and DOL on a wide variety of contested and procedural employee benefit matters, including, but not limited to, tax-qualification defects, plan funding and withdrawal liability issues.
Stephen was previously recognized by the New Jersey Bar Association in its New Leaders of the Bar as one of New Jersey’s top 50 lawyers under the age of 40.
